Many cyclists are forced to choose between a race-oriented gravel bike that's impractical for adventure riding, or an adventure gravel bike that falls short when the pace picks up. Basso identified this point of contention and made it the focus of the Palta III's development.
The result is a bike capable of performing well in gravel races, but also of accompanying you on long routes, trips and explorations without losing efficiency or feel.
Third generation, same essence
Since its launch in 2018, the Palta has evolved without losing its identity. The Palta III refines the original concept by improving rigidity, weight, and dynamic performance, maintaining the balance that has led to more than 7,000 Paltas already being used around the world.
Carbon, lightness and strength
The Palta III frame is constructed with a combination of Torayca T800, M40JB and T700 fibers, achieving a very successful balance between stiffness, absorption and durability.
Weighing 970 grams in size M and a fork of 385 grams, the Palta III is among the lightest gravel bikes in its segment, even incorporating solutions such as integrated internal storage.
Designed to roll fast… and far
The Palta III's geometry has been fine-tuned to offer high-speed stability and control on rough terrain without sacrificing agility. The tire clearance allows for tires up to 50mm wide at the rear and 52mm wide at the front, opening up a huge range of configurations.
This translates into a bike that's comfortable when the terrain gets tough, but precise and direct when you pick up the pace.
Details designed for real gravel riding
The Palta III goes beyond the box. It integrates practical solutions such as:
- Internal storage with Fidlock system and included bags.
- Multiple anchor points for drums and bags.
- UDH compatibility for ease of maintenance.
- Specific protections developed in conjunction with Vibram.
Everything is designed so that the bike works both in a race and on a multi-day route.
