Here are some of our favorite routes. They all start from easily accessible points like Grupeta or the surrounding area, and we've ridden them countless times, both on weekday outings and longer weekend trips.

Road Routes

1. Soto del Real Classic

  • Distance: 82 km
  • Elevation difference: 795 m
  • Type: Circular
  • Terrain: Road
  • Ideal for: moderate background + coffee in Soto

One of our favorites for its gentle pace, good surface, and incredible views. Perfect for beginners or for relaxed days of riding.

2. Puerto de la Morcuera (from Miraflores)

  • Distance: 98 km
  • Elevation difference: 1,055 m
  • Type: Circular
  • Terrain: Road
  • Ideal for: cyclists eager to climb

A legendary climb in the Sierra de Madrid mountains. It requires some fitness, but the views at the top more than make up for it. A steady climb, shade in summer, and a very good road.

3. La Serrano (our legendary New Year's Eve route)

Gravel Routes

1. Viñuelas Gravel Loop

  • Distance: 63 km
  • Elevation difference: 759 m
  • Type: Circular
  • Terrain: Compacted dirt tracks
  • Ideal for: enjoying without complications

We set off from Grupeta and took the track towards Tres Cantos. Then we entered the Soto de Viñuelas area, a classic for those who want to do some light gravel riding without going too far.
