Shimano XTR M9250 Di2: the new standard in electronic MTB drivetrains

The new Shimano XTR M9250 Di2 is here: wireless, stronger, and smarter. Everything you need to know about Shimano's new flagship mountain bike groupset.

Shimano XTR M9250 Di2: the new standard for electronic drivetrains in MTB

Shimano has just unveiled the new XTR M9250 Di2 , a fully wireless electronic groupset designed for mountain bikers seeking precision, durability and an advanced riding experience.

Designed to withstand the most demanding terrain and deliver maximum performance in trail, XC and even e-MTB, the new XTR comes with key improvements in drivetrain, braking, customization and ergonomics.

Surgical-precise wireless transmission

The XTR M9250 Di2 is Shimano's first fully wireless MTB groupset. Thanks to SHIMANO SHADOW ES technology and a new rear derailleur design, shifting is ultra-fast, quiet, and shock-resistant, even on the most technical terrain.

  • Automatic impact change: the system absorbs shocks and automatically recovers its position
  • Compatibility: versions with long clamp for 10-51T cassettes and medium clamp for 9-45T
  • Integrated battery: protected and easily removable for charging
  • Options for e-MTB: with wiring and AUTO SHIFT and FREE SHIFT functions

HYPERGLIDE+ and new cassettes

Available in 9-45T and 10-51T options, the new CS-M9200 cassette offers smoother shifting even under load and a more durable construction thanks to MICRO SPLINE.

Cranksets for all terrains

Shimano presents two crankset models:

  • FC-M9220 Trail/Enduro: more resistant and with a specific axle for greater rigidity
  • FC-M9200 XC: Lighter, with a narrower Q-factor and focused on performance

More powerful and predictable brakes

The new XTR braking system adapts to every type of cyclist:

  • BL-M9220 levers: more powerful and progressive thanks to the SERVO WAVE redesign
  • BR-M9220 Calipers: 4 pistons with a more rigid and quieter design
  • XC version: lighter, with 2-piston calipers and magnesium body

Improved ergonomics and absolute control

Shimano has redesigned the levers and buttons to adapt to the natural movement of the finger and improve control even on aggressive terrain.

The new SW-M9250IR push button offers:

  • Customizable shift modes (multi-shift, single click, etc.)
  • 4-way paddle angle adjustment
  • Additional button programmable from the E-TUBE app

Wheels and hubs up to the task

The group is completed by two new ranges of wheels and hubs:

  • WH-M9200: ultralight carbon for XC
  • WH-M9220: More durable for trail/enduro
  • M9210 bushings: better sealing, less resistance and a 3.5º compromise
